Finally!Beyoncé Drops New Album ‘Lemonade’ and the World Goes Wild
You’d think she had just been elected president of the United States.
Beyoncé dropped her brand new album, Lemonade, on Tidal on Saturday, April 23 — and the universe exploded just a little.
In true Queen Bey fashion, she kept the whole thing a secret until it actually happened. The new album features 12 songs — including “Formation,” which she released with a stunningly stark video in February — and one short film focusing on “every woman’s journey of self-knowledge and healing,” the press release says.
“#LEMONADE The Visual Album. Available now on BEYONCE.TIDAL.COM,” she announced simply on Instagram Saturday night with a photo of the album’s cover.

The 34-year-old pop star’s Formation World Tour starts in Miami this Wednesday. The album’s release comes two months after Bey’s memorable performance in the Super Bowl halftime show and just a week after she teased Lemonade with a mysterious video on YouTube. Excited, frenzied fans took to social media in droves to speculate about what was going on.
