We all make mistakes — but when celebrities make them, they make them in the limelight for all of us to see... and talk about... and remember, forever and ever. And when they're career mistakes, and not just personal blunders, well, not only will we remember it forever, but we can revisit it any moment we want.
For celebrities like Miley Cyrus, Mariah Carey, and Britney Spears, their professional missteps haven't exactly hurt their careers. For some of them, it's even helped. Robert Pattinson wouldn't be where he is today without Twilight — but that doesn't mean he's happy about it.
If you ask Kim Kardashian, she knows all too well what her biggest regret is: that sex tape. And though many claim that that's what started her career, she was actually hard at work climbing through the celebrity ranks long before that video broke. Sure, it might've gotten her name around a little quicker — but plenty of celebrities have had sex tapes that they haven't exactly been able to capitalize on. (Paris Hilton's sex tape certainly didn't do a lot for her — and neither did Farrah Abraham's.)

"If I do have one regret in life, that's it," Kim Kardashian said about the sex tape back in 2015. "Maybe that's how some people heard about me but I didn't launch my career off of that. That was 12 years ago, no 13 years ago now, so I just try to move on and put it in the past because I think that everyone in life does things they're not proud of but you can't sit and dwell on them forever."
Most of these stars have probably taken Kim's advice and moved on — but, TBH, we'll never forget their career regrets. After all, some of these stars' biggest mistakes are actually our favorite movies and songs.

It's no secret that Robert Pattinson has a deep, dark loathing for the entire Twilight series. Back in 2011, there was even an entire (now deleted) Tumblr blog called "Robert Pattinson Hates His Life" dedicated to sharing moments RPattz expressed his unrelenting regret.
But maybe the most memorable time was when he said this to E! Online: "When I read [the script]... I was convinced that Stephenie was convinced that she was Bella, and ... it was like it was a book that wasn't supposed to be published, like reading her — her sort of sexual fantasy... I was just convinced that this woman is mad, she's completely mad, and she's in love with her own fictional creation."
