Sadly, Blake Lively is all too familiar with sexual harassment. After over 25 women spoke out about their experiences with sexual harassment and sexual assault from film producer Harvey Weisntein, it's prompted more women in Hollywood to share their stories as well. The 30-year-old Gossip Girl star recently opened up about her alleged harassment from a makeup artist.
We hate that this happened to Blake, but we commend the fact that she had the courage to speak out about her experience. Watch the video below to learn Blake's account of what happened.
Even though the actress said he was removed from the set after she got lawyers involved, he still works in the industry. "Our unit production manager wrote him a letter of recommendation because nobody wanted there to be bad blood," said added.
It's a shame that it was more important for her crew to keep an amicable relationship with this man than take Blake's accusations seriously. She also explained that while she never was harassed by Harvey, she believes this issue is a human problem, not a Hollywood problem.
“That was never my experience with Harvey in any way whatsoever, and I think that if people heard these stories… I do believe in humanity enough to think that this wouldn’t have just continued,” she told The Hollywood Reporter. "I never heard any stories like this — I never heard anything specific — but it’s devastating to hear. It’s important that women are furious right now. It’s important that there is an uprising. It’s important that we don’t stand for this and that we don’t focus on one or two or three or four stories, it’s important that we focus on humanity in general and say, 'That is unacceptable.'"
