“We’re all hoping and praying that this will give us some answers,” the source tells ‘People,’ adding her condition is still “severe.”
Dr. Subhashini Ramesh, a professor of NeuroCritical Care who has not treated the 21-year-old, explains the reasoning for taking a patient out of a medically induced coma is to assess if the underlying problem has improved or “to get a sense of what the patient is able to do for [him or herself].”
