It’s true: We ain’t never had a friend quite like Robin Williams.
The late actor and comedian brought so many amazing characters to life, but if you were a ‘90s kid (and even if you weren’t), chances are you adored him as the Genie in Disney’s Aladdin.
On Tuesday night, the Broadway version honored Robin by leading a sing-a-long with the audience to the Genie’s song “Friend Like Me.”

After the curtains went down, the Associated Press reports James Monroe Iglehart, who won a Tony for his portrayal of the Genie, explained to the crowd that the song’s lyrics were placed inside their Playbills. He then encouraged them all to sing along.
On Wednesday, the Great White Way dimmed its lights to honor the Broadway vet.
