Cardi B Opens up About Her Painful Experience With Illegal Butt Injections
Rapper Cardi B is as real as it gets, that’s why she’s extremely open about the plastic surgery procedures she’s had. The “Careful” singer — who is currently pregnant and expecting her first child — is known for flaunting her curves, even though she admitted that her most famous asset is actually fake. She recently explained why she decided to get illegal butt injections while she was working as a stripper and she also recalled the experience — which wasn’t exactly safe.
“All right, here’s the thing,” Cardi revealed in an interview with GQ. “When I was 21, I did not have enough meat on my body — if I was to get lipo, I wouldn’t have fat for my a–.”

She explained that she wanted a bigger booty for two very specific reasons: her boyfriend at the time had cheated on her with a woman who “had a fat, big a–” and she also realized that her co-workers at the strip club with fuller derrières made more money because of the size of their butts — regardless of how well they danced. So the Bronx native went to see a woman in Queens who charged $800 for butt injections, which were performed illegally out of the woman’s basement apartment.
“They don’t numb your a– with anything,” the 25-year-old said. “It was the craziest pain ever. I felt like I was gonna pass out. I felt a little dizzy. And it leaks for, like, five days.”
Butt enhancements have went through a rise in popularity over the past, but the only FDA-approved procedure is the Brazilian Butt Lift, which is when a doctor transfers fat from other parts of the body via liposuction and injects it into the patient’s butt and hips, according to The Cut. But other non-FDA approved substances can be used, like silicone and collagen which is not reccommended because they can cause severe pain, permanent disfigurement, and death — and doctors cannot control the outcome of the injections. But even though Cardi was happy with her results, she couldn’t go back for a touch up because the woman who administered her shots got arrested. “She’s supposedly killed somebody,” Cardi said. “Well — somebody died on her table.” Watch the video below to see what Cardi B looks like with her natural hair!
