Carmelo and La La Anthony Split After Nearly 7 Years of Marriage

Say it ain’t so! After seven years of marriage, Carmelo and La La Anthony have reportedly called it quits.

TMZ states that the NBA player and former MTV host have separated and that La La has officially moved out of the couple’s home in NYC.

Sources allege that Carmelo got a dancer, who works at a gentleman’s club, pregnant, sparking the sudden split. The woman reportedly claims she’s nearly seven months along and is requesting that the 32-year-old pay for her medical expenses as well as other costs.

But an insider tells the Daily News that Carmelo and La La, who tied the knot in 2010 and share a 10-year-old son named Kiyan, haven’t been happy for a long time. “They have been fighting for about a year. The marriage has always been a rocky one, so this is no surprise,” the source admits.

There are also talks of Carmelo being traded to another team, which means he would have to leave NYC. Last week, Knicks coach Phil Jackson confessed it was time for him to go.

“He is a player that would be better off somewhere else and using his talents somewhere where he can win or chase that championship,” Phil said in a press conference. “I just said, ‘We haven’t won here. You don’t want to end your career not winning’… we talked around that, but he likes it here in New York.”

While Carmelo and La La, 37, are not talking about divorce just yet, and don’t have any plans to uproot their young son, fans took the news hard.

“If you live to be a hundred, I want to live that long minus one day, so I never have to live without you.” HAPPY ANNIVERSARY MY EVERYTHING,” La La captioned a photo from their wedding last year.

Carmelo has also denied breakup rumors in the past, saying, “She works. I work. We make it work. Communication is the key.”
