It was so inspiring to see Carole Radziwill run the New York City marathon in November 2017 to honor her late husband, Anthony Radziwill — who lost his battle with sarcoma, a rare form of cancer, in 1999. But the Real Housewives of New York star exclusively told Life & Style that you will definitely see her run again!

“[Running the marathon] was amazing,” she revealed at B Floral’s “Enchanted Evening” event on Wednesday. “I don’t know if I would do a marathon again, but I’ll do a half marathon and raise money for North Shore Animal League again.” The reality star finished the 26.2-mile dash in 6 hours, 42 minutes for the no-kill animal rescue, which happens to be the adoption organization where she got her two cats.

Before Carole’s late husband got sick, running was a big part of his life. “People always told me what a hero Anthony was because he battled cancer. I used to hate that — I didn’t want him to have to battle cancer,” Carole previously told People magazine. “Then it turns out, he was a hero after all — because he had run that New York City marathon. I finally feel like I’m going to honor him in the way that I should have when he used to talk incessantly about running.” Carole was married to Anthony from 1994 until his death in 1999 and for the most part, they kept his illness a secret.

“Very few people knew about it. His immediate family, really, and a couple of close friends at work,” she wrote in her 2005 book What Remains: A Memoir of Fate, Friendship and Love. “We lived like that for almost four, really, of the five years he had the illness.”
