The hills are alive with...Carrie Underwood!
NBC has released the first poster for their TV remake of the three-hour 1959 classic Broadway show The Sound of Music — and it features the country songstress as Maria, a role made famous by Julie Andrews in the 1965 film.
And she certainly looks the part. The 30-year-old rocks a dirndl and her hair pinned up in braids.

The Grammy winner stars opposite True Blood's Stephen Moyer, who plays widower Captain Von Trapp. Carrie's character acts as governess to his seven children and the pair fall in love.
"I have definitely been doing my part before we all get together," she said about the flick earlier this month. "I figure if I at least have the lines memorized by the time I get there we can slowly concentrate on delivering them. I definitely think I am going to be surrounded by some really amazing people, so I know they'll be able to help me with that."
The Sound of Music was the last musical written by Rodgers & Hammerstein.
The TV version will air live Dec. 5 at 8 p.m. ET.
