'Private Practice' 10 Years Later — See the Spinoff Cast Today!

It’s hard to believe it has been 10 years since Dr. Addison Shepherd left Seattle Grace for a “private practice” in sunny LA. Addison, played perfectly by actress Kate Walsh, takes her talents to Oceanside Wellness Center and reunites with her college BFFs, Sam and Naomi Bennett in the Grey’s Anatomy spinoff.

Without having to worry about bumping into her ex-husband, Addison continues her search for love on Private Practice, which followed the redheaded neonatal surgeon as she dealt with drama inside and outside the operating room. A decade after its premiere, we still catch ourselves (unapologetically) binge-watching the series.

Joined by series regulars Tim Daly, Paul Adelstein, Taye Diggs, Audra McDonald, KaDee Strickland, and Amy Brenneman— the series tackled some hard-hitting issues during its six seasons on the air, such as rape, teenage pregnancy, and addiction.

Recently, Kate opened up about her role on the drama, including her short-lived romance with co-star Taye (Dr. Sam Bennett). “It was funny, I was on The Today Show and I didn’t know that Taye was guest-hosting and they showed a little clip of us when Sam and Addison were dating [on Private Practice] and I was like, ‘Oh my god, who is that girl?’ It’s like watching someone else,” she told Buzzfeed. “I don’t usually watch myself — I get a little freaked out. It’s not good for me.”

However, Addison did finally get her happy ending on the show, tying the knot with Benjamin Bratt on the series finale. “Getting married was kind of awesome. It was symbolic, sending her off into the world,” Kate said at the time. “And all of the cast was there, so we got to have this massive celebration to end the series.”
