Pop star Miley Cyrus once admitted back in 2015 that cocaine was "Hollywood's drug of choice" — and judging by how many celebrities have admitted to using coke, it looks like there might be some truth to it.

Although Miley says she prefers weed over cocaine, other stars have been open and candid about their coke habits and the negative effect their addictions have played in their lives.
Singer Demi Lovato revealed in 2013 that her need for drugs was so intense, she couldn't go more than 30 minutes to an hour without them.
"Something I've never talked about before, but with my drug use I could hide it to where I would sneak drugs. I couldn't go without 30 minutes to an hour without cocaine and I would bring it on airplanes," she said. "I would smuggle it basically and just wait until everyone in first class would go to sleep and I would do it right there. I'd sneak to the bathroom and I'd do it."
Although cocaine use is decreasing nationally, it's still considered the popular drug of choice amongst celebrities.
"In general, with cocaine abuse, or cocaine dependence, the numbers are dropping... But in Hollywood, it’s still going strong," Dr. Reef Karim, a leading addiction specialist at The Control Center in Los Angeles said. "You still see coke everywhere in Hollywood. It is still considered to be a party drug."
So why do so many stars turn to the substance knowing it's addictive?
"It keeps you awake," Dr. Karim said. "And for a lot of people it makes them more hyper or more sociable, so, you’ve got people that want to party all night that don’t want to gain a lot of weight, that want to be able to talk to other people that they aren’t that interested in to start with, and want to have a good time in a pleasurable way."

“I won’t lie; it’s occasional," she revealed about her cocaine habit back in 2010. "And when I say occasional, I mean maybe a couple of times a year.”
However, in 2012, she changed her tune.
"I didn't do [cocaine] with other people," she told Howard Stern. "I did it alone. I did it all alone in my apartment and I wrote music and you know what, I regret every line I ever did. So to any of the little sweethearts that are listening, don't touch it, it's the devil."
