OMG! Charlie Hunnam Admits He Never Read Fifty Shades of Grey
Before attending the nuptials, Charlie confirmed he dropped out of Fifty.
“The filmmakers of Fifty Shades of Grey and Charlie Hunnam have agreed to find another male lead given Hunnam’s immersive TV schedule which is not allowing him time to adequately prepare for the role of Christian Grey,” said a rep for Universal, the studio that is producing the movie.According to his IMDB page, the 33-year-old only has the seventh and final season of his hit FX show scheduled to film — and that was already taken into consideration when he signed on to play Christian. No other TV work is lined up.
Matt Bomer "Grateful" and "Touched" By Fifty Shades of Grey Fan Petition
After author E.L. James revealed that he and Dakota Johnson were chosen to play Christian and Anastasia Steele, respectively, fans were outraged. Some even went so far as to create a petition on Change.org demanding they be replaced with White Collar hunk Matt Bomer and former Gilmore Girls star Alexis Bledel.
James reacted to Charlie’s exit on Saturday. She simply tweeted:
I wish Charlie all the best. x— E L James (@ELJames) October 12, 2013
