Christina Aguilera was happy to accompany boyfriend Matthew Rutler to his hometown of Newport, R.I., during a recent trip East -- but it was not like most visits! Instead of crashing at Matt's old digs--a two-floor apartment in a house (pictured above) he shared with three other roommates, they checked into one of the most luxe hotels in town: the Hyatt Regency Newport, where Christina booked the best suite available. "I was told it was because she needed room service 24-7," a friend of Matt's tells Life & Style. "And I know that when they left town, they flew out on her private jet."
That wasn't the only VIP treatment she insisted on! While she and Matt spend a few hours at his old hang out spot, the Fastnet Pub (pictured above), she kept her chauffeured Suburban running outside. "It was a strange sight to see in front of what's usually a quiet pub," the friend adds.
Big suites, fancy wheels and private planes have become the norm for the onetime production assistant who struggled to make ends meet until he crossed paths with the singer on the set of 2010's Burlesque. Besides giving away his room, he also seems to have given up his low-paying film career. His new full-time gig: traveling around the world as Christina's arm candy. "He's definitely set," a second pal tells Life & Style. "And who can blame him -- if a big celebrity came on to me, I'd probably go for it too."
