Most women do what they can to avoid gaining weight — but not British reality star Katie Hopkins.
In fact, she wanted to purposely gain 50 pounds to make a statement: That overweight people should only place the extra baggage blame on themselves.
“People have always said to me, all of my life, ‘You’re lucky to be skinny,’ and what I wanted to prove was that there are no excuses for being overweight,” she told Today this morning.
In case you’re unfamiliar with Katie, she’s known for making brash comments overseas. Not only has she infamously said, “I don’t believe you can be fat and happy. I think that’s just a cop out,” but she also caused a media storm when she claimed she “didn’t like” children with “lower class” names such as Chantelle and Tyler. (FYI, my name is Chantal and it’s I'm awesome -- thank you very much!)
Anywho, this human being (? we guess ?) decided to gorge on 6,500 calories a day to gain the fiddy pounds.
She ate everything from pasta and cupcakes to fries and burgers. Oh, and if you want to feel bad, she wrote down everything she consumed in a journal and cried. Somebody call the wambulance.
“I didn't cry at childbirth. I didn't cry at my wedding, but I cried over this because I was just so disgusting,” she said.
Excuse us while we have a moment.
After packing on the 5-0, she set out to prove that anyone can lose the weight — and she’s committed to doing so in three months.
“I’ve learned a lot about how it feels to be big, how difficult it is to be big, how horrible it is to have fat sitting on the top of your thighs, and how much more challenging it is just to do everyday life when you’re bigger,” she said.
Whatever. We're getting cheese fries.
