Looking healthy, albeit a little thinner, Glee star Cory Monteith made his first red carpet appearance since completing a stint in rehab. Accompanied by his girlfriend and co-star Lea Michele, the 31-year-old attended the Chrysalis Butterfly Ball in LA last night.
Cory headed to rehab in March for treatment of “substance addiction,” and Tweeted his thanks to fans for their support when he completed the program in late April. “Sending out big love to everyone,” he said. “It means the world to me:)”
Will Lea Michele Write About Cory Monteith in Her New Book?
But Cory’s biggest support during that time was Lea, and an eyewitness at last night's event tells Life & Style that she acted very much like a concerned, loving girlfriend.
“She seemed very protective of Cory when they walked on the red carpet,” the eyewitness says. “Leading up to dinner, Cory was watching the Kings game on his iPhone, and Leah sat beside him with her hand on his thigh.”
The couple left before dinner ended. “They ran out with her hanging on his arm, and they were kissing and cuddling each other. It seemed like Lea really wanted to get him out of there, maybe because there was wine at every table and open bars throughout the event.”
