Our hearts are breaking for singer Eddie Montgomery, who lost his 19-year-old son Hunter on Sept. 27.
The 51-year-old, who is part of the country music duo Montgomery Gentry, said in a statement, “My son Hunter went to heaven today. I appreciate all your prayers and love and thank you for giving us privacy as we grieve and say goodbye.”

The band added on their Facebook page that the teen was hospitalized in Kentucky and placed on life support following an "accident." No other details regarding the death were disclosed.
The youngest of four children, Hunter reportedly proposed to his girlfriend a year ago during one of his dad's concerts, a bright spot for Eddie after a few difficult years.
