Things are starting to look up for Carrie Underwood! Since the iconic singer suffered a fall that left her with 40 stiches in her face and a broken a wrist five months ago, fans have only seen a little bit of the blonde beauty through a few photos shared to her social media accounts. But don't worry, Carrie is officially making her way back into the spotlight.

Carrie, 35, has had more than one announcement for her devoted fans over the past few days — one being a new album! "I’ve been in the studio writing and singing a TON, but I’ve also been able to be creative in a way that I’ve never been before, which has been very fulfilling and empowering," she wrote via her blog on Tuesday, April 10. "I’ve always been lucky to have a voice in the writing and recording process, but this is the first time I am this involved in the production of my music. It’s been challenging and incredibly rewarding to be involved in every aspect from start to finish."

The mom-of-one then proceeded to share details about her new single, which will be released on Wednesday, April 11 at 6 a.m. ET. "The first single is a song I love so much and can’t wait to share with you. It’s called 'Cry Pretty,'" she wrote. "The title refers to when emotions take over and you just can’t hold them back. It really speaks to a lot of things that have happened in the past year and I hope when you hear it, you can relate those feelings to those times in your life. It’s emotional. It’s real. And it ROCKS!" The Academy of Country Music also revealed that Carrie will be singing "Cry Pretty" onstage at the highly-anticipated ACM Awards on Sunday, April 15.

As previously reported, Carrie's spill in Nashville resulted in "multiple injuries." She was also treated for "cuts and abrasions." She addressed her worried followers at the time. "Thanks so much for all the well wishes everybody. I’ll be alright… might just take some time," Carrie wrote back in November. The performer also noted that she "might look a bit different" after the incident.

But now, she's feeling better than ever! "I’m doing pretty darn good these days!" Carrie revealed in her blog. "My wrist is almost back to normal, about 90 percent there… and the docs say that last ten percent will come in time. And my face has been healing pretty nicely as well. I definitely feel more like myself than I have in a while." We're glad to have you back, Carrie!
