Melissa Rycroft may have actually been seeing stars!
During a Dancing With the Stars: All Stars rehearsal with partner Tony Dovolani on Sunday, the contender was taken to a Los Angeles hospital after suffering a head and neck injury.
“Really concerned about @MelissaRycroft….. we don’t know if we are dancing tomorrow !!!!! Please keep us in your prayers #trouper,” Tony tweeted on Oct. 21.
But luckily for Melissa, E! News reports she has since been released from the hospital.
“Melissa was taken by ambulance to a local hospital where she is currently being examined,” Melissa’s rep explained yesterday. “She was accompanied to the hospital by her husband, Tye Strickland, and her dance partner, Tony Dovolani. Everyone is taking all the necessary precautions at this time.”
So what may have been the cause behind Melissa’s injury? The Tango.
“Been a long (and tough week) of Tango…but back to attack again today,” she tweeted on Oct. 20. “Sometimes nothing motivates you like frustration…!”
As for performing on tonight’s episode, that’s still up in the air.
"Thank you so much for sending your prayers..still seeing and talking to docs this AM, will give more details soon, but thanks for your love!" Melissa wrote on her Twitter this morning.
DWTS is no stranger to accidents. In 2012, actress Melissa Gilbert, who danced with Maksim Chmerkovskiy on the show, suffered a mild concussion and whiplash after she hit her head on the floor during one of their dances. A year before that, pro dancer Kym Johnson suffered a neck injury when she was rehearsing with professional football player, Hines Ward, who went on to win the 12th season.
