People are divided on whether a restaurant owner was justified in screaming at a child who wouldn't stop crying.
Darla Neugebauer, who runs Marcy's Diner in Portland, Maine, found herself in the middle of a massive controversy when the mother of the child whom she reprimanded aired her grievances on Facebook.

In the now-deleted post, Tara Carson wrote, "The owner is an absolute lunatic and screamed in the face of my almost 2 year old child bc she was crying...May karma bite you in the a@@ (sic)."
The following day, the diner's page responded (the post has also since been deleted), stating that the incident started because the family "ordered too many pancakes" and the child got fussy.
“I slammed my hands on the table and said, ‘This needs to stop’ — meaning [the child's] screaming — and I pointed at her and she looked at me and she stopped,” Neugebauer told TV station KVUE of how she handled the situation.

Since the story has gone national, more and more people are speaking out in support of Neugebauer and her diner. "Good for you! Your diner, your rules," one commenter wrote, while another stated, "you were totally in the right...I hope you would do it again!"
But not everyone's in agreement. One person mocked Neugebauer's pancake excuse, writing, "Get ready! All the moms are heading in with our kids to order lots and lots of pancakes!"
