Dylan Sprouse Is Making an Epic Return to Acting — and Yes, We’re Excited AF

He’s baaack! After taking a six-year hiatus from showbiz, Dylan Sprouse is finally making a comeback. Director Eva Doležalová recently took to Instagram to share photos of the Disney Channel alum, 24, on the set of her upcoming film, Carte Blanche.

Back in January, the former Suite Life of Zack and Cody star said he was looking to revive his acting career — but only if he were presented with the right roles. “I’m interested in roles that are human, that have some sort of empathic quality. A role I would not do: cool jock. That’s not something I’d be interested in doing,” the actor told The New York Daily News. “Scripts that make characters a two-sentence description, I’m not interested in.”

During his time off from movies and television, Dylan and his twin brother, Cole, attended New York University. Dylan, who graduated in 2015, majored in video game design. He also took time to open the All-Wise Meadery, a brewery inside The William Vale hotel in Williamsburg, Brooklyn — a solo project without Cole.

For his part, Cole — who currently stars on the CW’s comic book-inspired teen drama, Riverdale — previously opened up about his decision to retreat from the limelight while going to school. “I needed to take a break and step outside myself. I needed a dose of reality and I needed to see myself in a more objective point of view,” he told Entertainment Weekly last year. “And now I think I can enjoy [acting], which is a really fundamental part about being an actor.”

Cole also said that while he is grateful for all the opportunities he got from being a child star, he is much happier now that he is able to make his own decisions. “It’s a career and a business, and it got me to college, which is one of the most fantastic gifts I could’ve been given,” he said. “But I’m glad to be [acting] on my own accord now.”
