His publicist, Michele Elyzabeth, told LATF USA, "I just heard the news and I am truly devastated. Christian was an incredibly brilliant man. He will be missed."
According to TMZ, Christian announced that he was suffering from Myelodysplastic Syndrome, the same bone disease that affected Robin Roberts, in January, but was said to be "doing much better" just a few months ago after undergoing a bone marrow transplant in March.

However, he had recently been re-admitted to the hospital where he reportedly passed into a coma before waking up.
The French native is known for popularizing the brands Von Dutch and Ed Hardy and has worked with labels such as Guess, Levis, Diesel and Bisou Bisou after moving to NYC in his 20s.
Christian, whose fashion empire is said to be worth around $250 million, is survived by his three children — a daughter and two sons. Our thoughts are with his family during this difficult time.
