Francesca Hogi was the first person ever to be sent to Redemption Island -- and the first contestant of the season to be eliminated when she was sent packing on Survivor: Redemption Island last night.

Despite losing, the 36-year-old attorney from Washington, D.C., exclusively tells Life & Style that she's happy to return to civilization. "I never ate anything on Survivor except for rice and sand!" Francesca tells Life & Style about her diet on the show, which was 1 cup of rice per day. "We have one pot, and sand from the water gets in everything."
After only one week, Francesca lost a whopping 10 pounds. "The first thing I did when I got out of the game was eat a cheeseburger -- and rice and beans and brownies and some cookies!" she says. "And then I took a 45-minute shower, which was the best shower of my life."
Even though she was outplayed in the end by tribe member Matt Elrod, Francesca hopes the 22-year-old pre-med student that sent her home actually ends up taking the title. "Matt is such a sweetheart, and I'd love for him to win it all," Francesca tells Life & Style. "The two days that we were on Redemption Island together, he became my friend for life."
One contestant Francesca says she won't be rooting for? Returning villain Russell Hantz, 38, who was voted out by his tribe last night and sent to Redemption Island: "If he was on my tribe, I would have wanted him out first thing too."
