She was a fan favorite this season, but Elizabeth Berkley was still shockingly eliminated from last night’s episode of Dancing With the Stars.
And the former Saved By the Bell star admited she felt “sucker-punched” when it was announced she and partner Val Chmerkovskiy would be leaving.

“I’m sad. I’m not going to lie,” she told Life & Style as she held back tears. “[But] don’t be sad that it’s over – smile because it happened. I’m just going to live with that. I felt a little sucker-punched because I was excited about next week. I feel like we got cut short – not that I feel entitled by any means. I just felt extremely grateful.”
The duo had some of the best scores of the night – a 26 for their Viennese waltz and a perfect 30 for their trio salsa with pro Gleb Savchenko. It came down between them and Bill Engvall and his partner, Emma Slater, who scored a 21 for each of their dances. When it was revealed that Bill and Emma were safe, everyone was shocked.

“The truth is on this show, you just never know,” Elizabeth said when asked if she was just as surprised as everyone else. “Everyone’s talented.”
But the 41-year-old, who had a hard time holding back tears as she chatted, is taking away so much from the experience.
“The friendship and the love affair I have with dance…This isn’t sad. It’s just a very deep thing [Val] helped me reconnect to which I am forever grateful,” she explained. “It’s like a full circle love affair.”
She also said that Val has “inspired me in so many ways.”

Despite her sadness over leaving the show, Elizabeth acknowledged that she’s excited to spend more time with her husband, Greg Lauren, and their baby boy, Sky, 1.
“That’s amazing,” she told Life & Style. “Every second is precious.”
