"January Jones was talking about it at the Governors Ball afterparty last night," an insider tells Life & Style.

According to reports, the hunky 42-year-old star, who rocked a mountain man beard at the Emmys, has one large polyp on his vocal cords. When he recently — and allegedly — coughed up blood, that's when he decided to finally get it checked out.

People who use their voices a great deal — like singers and actors — are prone to developing polyps.

Aside from the surgery talk, the insider says January was also overheard chatting with Jon about a fantasy football league.

"They were less interested in the ball and more excited about their fantasy league," the source shares. "January was asking, 'Who's going on Monday night?'"

Despite being nominated for 12 awards, Mad Men went home empty-handed last night.
