It was revealed today that Selena Gomez secretly checked into an Arizona rehab facility for the first two weeks of January.
A rep for the actress said her voluntary stay at Meadows was not for drugs or alcohol.
Life & Style can now reveal the brunette beauty exhibited signs she needed treatment long before finding the strength to go through with it.
An insider on set of her racy movie Spring Breakers [watch the NSFW trailer below] in 2012 explains:
“She started having severe anxiety attacks while on set filming and just couldn’t handle the pressure,” the source tells Life & Style.
“The movie was pretty intense for someone like Selena. It was almost an NC-17 rating. I think she just couldn’t shake her bad girl image for the role.”
