After 19 years, Spice Girls fans have finally been vindicated!
Geri Halliwell (aka Ginger Spice) broke all of our hearts when she up and quit the girl group in 1998 due to discord within the band as well as a struggle with depression.

In 2010, Geri gave more details about her departure, which took place right before the Spice Girls were set to begin a North American tour. The famous redhead revealed she had been asked to give an interview about breast cancer — after having suffered a scare as a teen — and was told she wasn't allowed to. It proved to be the straw that broke the camel's back.

“I just got really angry, very emotional about it, because it was something very close to my heart,” she said at the time. "I was meant to be the advocate of girl power, and I felt like a hypocrite if I couldn’t do something...for empowering women. So, I had to go. I had no other choice, really.”
