Fact: Tina Fey and Amy Poehler should co-host the Golden Globes every year.
There were so many amazing moments from last night’s show that we just had to share some of our favorites.
From the co-hosting and Ben Affleck’s surprising wins (take that, Oscars!) to Jodie Foster’s cryptic speech and Tina calling out Taylor Swift, see what made our list below:
Wait – Didn’t They Just Have Babies?: Claire Danes and Megan Fox may be new moms—they gave birth in December and September, respectively—but you could have never guessed when they took the Golden Globes stage! Both ladies looked absolutely phenomenal — and incredibly fit.

Tina Fey and Amy Poehler—Need We Say More?: From the time they took to the stage to when they signed off (claiming they’d spend the night with Jodie Foster), it was non-stop laughter. Quotes and highlights as follows:*Amy says Zero Dark Thirty director, Kathryn Bigelow, understands torture because she was “married to James Cameron for three years.”*Tina tells Anne Hathaway, who won Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy/Musical, that she had not seen anyone as alone as she was in “Les Miserables” as she was co-hosting the Oscars with James Franco in 2011.*Amy making ladies around the world jealous, sitting on George Clooney’s lap as the camera panned to her during her nomination for Best Actress in a Television Series Comedy/Musical.*Taylor’s jab at Taylor Swift: “You know what Taylor Swift? You stay away from Michael J. Fox’s son.” Fox’s son, Sam, was Mr. Golden Globe, and accompanied winning stars off stage following their speeches.
Ben Affleck’s Surprising Wins—Plus, How Adorable Is He With Wife Jennifer Garner?: He may have been snubbed the Oscars, but the Hollywood Foreign Press showed Ben a lot of love at the Globes! Not only did he take home the win for Best Director, but his film, Argo, also won Best Motion Picture Drama! Throughout the show, Ben stole tons of kisses wife Jen, and even told her “You are my everything” during his acceptance speech for Best Director.
Jodie Foster’s Speech: Jodie was awarded the coveted Cecil B. DeMille award, but her acceptance speech turned into a rather, well, see for yourselves below:
Jennifer Lawrence’s Joke Falls Flat — But We Got It!: After winning Best Actress in a Motion Picture Comedy/Musical for her role in Silver Linings Playbook, Jennifer joked “I beat Meryl!” – referring to Meryl Streep, who was also nominated, and a quote from 1996’s First Wives Clubs. In the film, Bette Midler’s character says to Goldie Hawn’s character, “Once you were a terrific actress. You even got an Oscar to prove it.” Then Bette’s character sees and touches the award in the scene, saying, “‘I beat Meryl.’ That’s what it says.” Don’t worry, Jen, we understood!

Paul Rudd and the Tricky Teleprompter: Taking the stage with Salma Hayek, the pair presented Best Television Series Drama — or tried to. Unfortunately for the duo, the teleprompter apparently went out for a good 30 seconds — a very awkward 30 seconds.
