Sandra Bullock is one of the many people sad to see Jay Leno retiring from The Tonight Show.
And she made that clear with the tearful sendoff she gave him on his Wednesday night show – his second to last ever.
“You’ve always been so kind. That’s saying a lot in this business, because we like to be mean,” she said as tears filled her eyes.
“There’s not been one time you haven’t treated me like I had something to offer – even when the film was awful and you knew it, you never let me see it in your eyes.”
She added, “When I made crazy life decisions, you never questioned it. You were so welcoming it. I just felt special, even when I was insecure.
“Well, you are special,” he said, kissing the star’s hand.
Speaking of awful films, the sweet moment came after the late night host poked fun at Sandy’s disastrous 1997 flick Speed 2: Cruise Control.
“I don’t care anymore!” he said, explaining he can pretty much say whatever he wants since he’s set for retirement.
(Jimmy Fallon is set to take over the gig in NYC.)
Then it was time for the late night host to show something special he made for the 49-year-old mother-of-one.
“I’ve put together a montage of your hair,” he told the brunette beauty, who looked like a deer caught in the headlights.
The clip shows 11 of Sandy’s sometimes-questionable looks, as a male rendition of Barbara Streisand’s “Memories” plays in the background.
(P.S. Didn’t she totally channel Britney Spears circa ’03 in that fedora and vest?)
Jay was in for some surprises during the hour-long show.
In another segment, he explained to the audience that while he was cleaning out his office, he found some things his famous guests have left over the years – like Justin Bieber’s diary and a bong.
After reading an entry from Bieber’s “diary,” director Kevin Smith appeared to claim the bong — but not before noting it had less marijuana than when he’d left it.
Carrot Top, Blake Shelton and Arsenio Hall all stopped by to pay their respect.
Jay’s final show airs Thursday, Feb. 6.
Billy Crystal and Garth Brooks are scheduled to appear – but if Wednesday’s episode proves anything, be on the look out for even more famous faces.
Check it out tonight at 11:35 p.m. ET on NBC.
