They may have signed divorce papers earlier this month but there’s still a chance for a fairytale ending. Kendra Wilkinson and Hank Baskett made their split official on April 6 — filing for divorce and citing irreconcible differences. But for those who think divorce means the end for these two, think again. Both parties are publicly making it clear: there’s still hope.

“You always leave the door open for [reconciliation],” Hank told TMZ on April 13. When asked if he was open to getting back together for the kids’ sakes or because he had lingering feelings for his ex-wife, Hank answered, “I would say both.”

The possibility for reconciliation is a sentiment 32-year-old Kendra — who co-parents son Hank Baskett IV and daughter Alijah Mary Basket with her ex — also echoes when asked about her impending divorce. The reality TV star and former Playboy bunny announced the news of her divorce in a heartfelt Instagram post and the possibility of her getting back with Hank seemed almost inevitable with how tender she was towards Hank. “Today is the last day of my marriage to this beautiful man. I will forever love Hank and be open but for now we have chosen to go our own ways,” she wrote. “I’m beyond sad and heartbroken because I did believe in forever, that’s why I said yes but unfortunately too much fear has gotten in the way.”

Today is the last day of my marriage to this beautiful man. I will forever love Hank and be open but for now we have chosen to go our own ways. I’m beyond sad and heartbroken because i did believe in forever, that’s why i said yes but unfortunately too much fear has gotten in the way. We are both amazing parents and our kids will be happy n never know the difference other than seeing mama smile. Sometimes love looks funny. We are told to make sacrifices in life if it’s true love well in this case it’s me. I want to see happy Hank again… i miss that. Marriage was just a piece of paper and a piece of jewelry but our hearts will always be real. U will prob see us together a lot but it’s because there’s no hate. Love wins in this case it’s just looks a little funny. Thank you Hank for a beautiful 8 years of marriage and 2 beautiful kids. I feel so thankful and blessed. ❤️

It’s clear both Kendra and Hank are learning to put their emotions regarding the split aside. Instead, they’re focusing on the two children they share. Dating seems out of the question for Hank, at least for now. “I wouldn’t call [this] the single life. I’ve just been working,” he insisted.

While working and focusing on his kids seems to be Hank’s MO post-divorce, many fans of the Kendra On Top stars are wondering about Kendra’s recent partying. The star — who posted a Snapchat of herself “drunk” after the divorce was anonounced — has received some backlash from haters. Some even went as far to call her an alcoholic. That’s an accusation Hank won’t tolerate, even if they’ve decided to go their separate ways and end their eight-year marriage.

“Kendra doesn’t drink like everybody thinks. She posted a picture of her having a drink and everybody wants to say she’s an alcoholic. You know what? Kendra’s not like that. That’s what’s so funny. I think that’s what irritates me the most.” As far as how Hank is coping? He might not be relying on alcohol and Instagram to crowd-source his self-esteem like Kendra, but rest assured he’s doing just fine, taking the new changes in his life one by one. “You know me,” he said. “I take things day by day.” Perhaps their differences aren’t so irreconcilable after all!
