A happy family beach vacation in Hawaii turned grim rather quickly for Heidi Klum on Easter Sunday.
While swimming in the ocean with her boyfriend, Martin Kristen, son Henry, 7, her father and two nannies, the group found themselves in danger when a wave pulled them into the waters. Heidi was faced with every parent’s worst nightmare: The possibility of losing her child – so she quickly acted.
“We were pulled into the ocean by a big wave,” she explains to Life & Style in a statement. “Like any mother, I was very scared for my child and everyone else in the water. Thankfully Henry is a strong swimmer and was able to swim back to land and we were able to get everyone out safely.”
An eyewitness tells Life & Style that Heidi’s father retrieved one nanny from the Oahu North Shore waters while the 39-year-old German model sprang into action and saved both her son and the second nanny.
“Heidi went first for Henry, pulled him out aggressively and put him on the beach,” the onlooker tells Life & Style. “Heidi literally used all of her strength to lift this woman and pull her through the water.”
