Just when you thought Leonardo DiCaprio couldn't get any dreamier — he does!In addition to his charm and good looks, the heartthrob can now add record-breaking philanthropist to his list of many memorable roles.The Great Gatsby star hosted a star-studded charity art auction at Christie's in NYC on Monday to help the effort of the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation, which benefits wildlife conservation. The event raised an incredible $38.8 million and records were broken for 13 artists in the auction.
EXCLUSIVE: Leonardo DiCaprio: I'm Just Like The Great Gatsby In Real Life“Our goal here tonight is very simple,” Leo told the crowd, which included A-listers such as Bradley Cooper, Tobey Maguire and Salma Hayek, before the auction started. “The funds raised will directly go to support innovative conservation projects on land and in our oceans.”The 38-year-old explained that only 3,200 tigers are left in the wild and that 90% of the world’s sharks have become extinct. The swoon-worthy star also lamented that the African elephant could die off in the next decade if action isn’t taken.
