Stars have perfected the art of looking their best for a big event — whether it's the Oscars or a magazine shoot.
Lauren Slayton, MS RD and author of The Little Book of Thin says going drastic with your diet isn't for everyday, but in the case of a special occasion, she has a few key tricks you can use to de-bloat, de-puff, flatten and illuminate on a deadline — just like stars.
Let's be clear: drastic may not last, but it feels good in a dress or a swimsuit!

De-Puff by skipping sweet and wheat. Steer clear of even the good ones like dark chocolate and nutrition bars and especially sauces – ketchup, barbeque, etc. - which can be hidden sources of sugar.
Slim Down your body by incorporating asparagus, lemon, ginger, parsley and dandelion greens into your diet every day for a week. Potassium in parsley and dandelion greens helps you shed sodium that makes us retain water; Prebiotics in foods such as asparagus help feed the healthy gut bacteria.
Blast The Bloat by working that water and do matcha. It’s counter-intuitive, but water helps you lose water. I suggest 96 ounces daily of a combination of water with a cup or two of do matcha powdered green tea. If we’re dehydrated, sometimes we’re tempted to eat when we actually need to drink, so just drink up in the first place.
C Yourself Thinner — by cutting canned foods, carbonated beverages and cocktails.
Get the Glow. Take out your shot glass to get that glow. Sea buckthorn, a berry with carotenoids (think carrots) and good fats works wonders for skin and hair. Sibiu sells an unsweetened purée you can take healthy shots of. Cheers to that.

This is the juice you want to make if there’s a swimsuit in your future. It’s also a delicious snack for less drastic days.
Makes 1 serving:
3 cups kale, roughly chopped
2 cups watermelon, cubed
2 to 3 leaves fresh basil
1 lime with most of the peel sliced off
1 cucumber, cut in half
2 stalks celery
Fresh ginger, juiced
Prepare and rinse all of the ingredients. Load all of the ingredients into a juicer (with the exception of hot sauce, if you are using it). Once juiced, give the liquid a stir and enjoy!
