Kerry Washington sure has an amazing boss!
To celebrate becoming a first-time mama, Shonda Rhimes, the writer of Scandal, held a baby shower at her Hancock Park, Calif., home for the show’s star on Sunday.
Kerry, who plays Olivia Pope on the hit ABC series, arrived around 11:15 a.m., wearing a light blue dress.
“She looked beautiful and had very little makeup on,” a source says.
“She was with her mom Valerie and was met by several family members inside.”
The pregnant beauty was greeted by an array of gifts at the ladies-only affair, which hosted about 50 women — including Kerry’s celeb pals Jane Fonda and Scandal co-star Darby Stanchfield.
Tons of baby clothes, stuffed animals, flowers and gift baskets were wrapped in pastel colors.
And the set-up was nothing short of breathtaking.
A beautiful garden party was set up on the back lawn under a tent next to a pool.
“Kerry looked ecstatic to be surrounded by so many family members and friends,” the insider says.
“She loved mixing her work friends with her family and having everyone get to know each other. Shonda was very gracious to host everyone and Kerry was very appreciative.”
The soiree ended around 3 p.m.
“She felt so loved she didn’t want the day to end,” the source tells E! News.
“She gave Shonda a huge hug and kiss before thanking her and leaving with her mom.”

Jane blogged about the party, saying the 7-months-pregnant star looked “radiant.”
"I hadn't seen Kerry since she was pregnant and as soon as I saw her with her gorgeous belly I starting crying," she said.
"Then Kerry's mother spoke, giving words of wisdom to Kerry and the rest of us about how to raise a baby to be a happy, fully realized, person."
It was been a very busy weekend for the mom-to-be.
Just the night before, Kerry won Outstanding Actress in a Drama Series at the NAACP Image Awards.
Despite looking flawless in a custom silk Thakoon floorsweeper, she admits she didn't always have good fashion sense.
"I came into beauty and fashion much later in life — like after college and when I had to walk red carpets," she recently told DooBop.com.
"Even now, when I go to fashion shows and look at the clothing, hair and make up, it's like going to an opening at the Met or a Broadway show. It's a moment to take in artistry."
The 37-year-old actress is expecting her first child with San Francisco 49ers cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha, 32, whom she married in a very secret ceremony last summer.
