Last year, Married to Medicine star Dr. Jackie Walters was devastated after she learned that her husband, Curtis Berry, cheated on her. As fans are well aware, the dramatic aftermath of Curtis’ infidelity has been playing out on Season 5 of the hit Bravo series. In a preview for the Friday, Jan. 26, episode of M2M, the couple make an attempt to salvage their marriage — and Life & Style has an exclusive first look.

In the teaser, Dr. Jackie and Curtis sit down with a therapist via FaceTime to talk through their marital woes. Asked to share what pushed him to have an affair, Curtis explains, “Probably a feeling of loneliness, a feeling of not being wanted or needed. Work wasn’t the greatest at the time and life wasn’t great at home.”

That’s when Dr. Jackie admits, “Trying to show sympathy or any empathy is a struggle. However, I did hear what you said and I really do feel bad that I had allowed such a distance to take place.”

“I won’t let you take that blame by yourself,” Curtis says, to which Dr. Jackie responds, “I’m not owning what you did. How do you take a shattered relationship based on what has happened and fix it?”

The pair’s therapist then suggests that their marriage can get back on track if they’re able to “rebuild communication and trust.” But Dr. Jackie — who previously filed for divorce, but has reportedly reconciled with Curtis — doesn’t seem sold in the sneak peek.

“I don’t think we’re there yet,” the OBGYN says with skepticism, later expressing doubt that she and Curtis can power through their problems. “I’m certain that there is a future. I want to make sure that the future includes the two of us and that we can not go down this path ever again.”
