Rejoice. If you were wondering if Fitz is on Season 7 of Scandal, you got your answer on episode two of the ABC drama — because Tony Goldwyn‘s character is back and we have a feeling he is going to win Olivia Pope over.

Olitz shippers have been on a rollercoaster ride when it comes to Olivia and Fitz’s relationship, but in the final season of the show, they might finally get their happily ever after, complete with Vermont and jam. In the second episode, viewers saw Fitz reappear just as Olivia was bringing home a new man. Talk about awkward. And last week, Fitz was considering giving his longtime girlfriend a wing in his presidential library.

Tony, like all other Gladiators, thinks the couple is due for a reconciliation. “I think he and Olvia are each other’s worst enemies in that regard. He certainly tried to be a good boyfriend,” he told E! News. “From Fitz’s point of view, Olivia worked pretty hard to push him away. I think it’s OK to say Fitz is not done trying.”

Die-hard fans of the political thriller remember Olvia and Fitz romance started as an affair before Fitz even made it into the White House. After going through an assassination attempt, a kidnapping, and an abortion, the couple seemingly called it quits for good. But it isn’t a Shonda Rhimes show unless there is some makeup sex. On the Season 6 finale, the pair celebrated his last night in the White House with a little rendezvous before he left to Vermont to work for his foundation. And we have a feeling that was just the beginning of their rekindled romance.

“If she had it all figured out, there would be no show,” Kerry Washington said of her character to People. “Like in the first season, she was seemingly perfect. She had it all, but her personal life was a freakin’ mess. Now we get to see her again in a place where it looks like she has it all professionally. But it’s not going to be simple. I don’t know exactly how that’s going to unfold over the entire season to end the series, but I can tell you that it’s really challenging me as an actor and surprising me.

She continued, “I feel just as excited and nervous and honored and determined toward excellence as I did in our pilot. This team and this material and this show brings out in me.” #TeamFitz forever! Tune into the final season of Scandal Thursday nights at 9 p.m. EST on ABC.
