Christina Milian and Mark Ballas wowed the Dancing With the Stars audience and judges with their near perfect cha cha performance — but it still wasn’t enough to keep them in the running!
After the pair, who nabbed the first 10 of the season, found out they were going home, Life & Style chatted with Christina.
“I was shocked, for sure,” she said, while holding back tears. “I could say that it could’ve been anybody else, but after having a great performance, you feel a lot more confident…we knew that last week wasn’t the best week based on everything with Julianne Hough. We didn’t know what the outcome would be. I guess it didn’t work out.”

On last week’s show, Julianne filled in for judge Len Goodman and critiqued Mark and Christina’s performance, saying that, “I’ve danced with Mark. You have to stand in front to make sure you’re seen.” According to reports, Mark was unhappy with his childhood friend’s comments, but the actress stood by what she said.
When asked if she felt that played a role in their early exit, Christina told Life & Style, “She’s very present. She has a presence and followers and she’s very likable. Who knows? I don’t want to blame it on her.”
The former co-host of The Voice said dancing alone in the beginning of her routine was done on purpose because of Julianne’s criticism.
“It was in response to what she said,” shared Christina. “Mark purposefully said, ‘Okay, well, if she thinks I overshadow you, we’re going to have a whole intro with you just dancing.’”

Mark, who normally does the press rounds with his partners after the show, was upset and decided to skip it.
“I think he’s still in shock. Both of us are just in shock,” the actress said. “He’s just sorry. I told him, “you did such a great job, dude. This has nothing to do with you.’”
