Is Ryan Seacrest leaving American Idol? A really good April Fool’s joke started rumors that Ryan was leaving his job as host on the reality competition series and he was seemingly replaced by The Bachelor franchise host Chris Harrison after Chris did Ryan’s job of opening the show on Sunday, April 1 — but even though the network made it very clear that it was just a silly prank, fans still were worried that Ryan could be leaving the show for good — especially considering the reports that have been surrounding the TV personality over the last few months.

Back in November 2017, Ryan revealed that he was under investigation at E! after his former stylist Suzie Hardy came forwards with sexual misconduct and harassment allegations against him. She claimed that she allegedly endured years of abuse, groping, sexual comments, and inappropriate requests from Ryan.

“As proud as I am and as strong as a woman as I am, as smart as I am and as much work as I’ve done with therapists, it really affected me,” she revealed in a February 2018 interview with Variety. “I didn’t know how to deal with it. I really didn’t. I was battling finally being in a decent financial position to breathe and be a mom, that I didn’t have to be freaking out all the time, and then dealing with this infantile celebrity person who was testing me on every level and manipulating me and knew that I was in a vulnerable position.”

Ryan has vehemently denied the allegations and he seemed to be vindication after the investigation was closed in February. “E! has now concluded the investigation into allegations regarding Ryan Seacrest,” a network spokesperson told Variety at the time. “The investigation, conducted by outside counsel, found insufficient evidence to support the claims against Seacrest and therefore could not be substantiated. E! is committed to providing a safe working environment where everyone is treated with respect and dignity.”
