If the ending of the Game of Thrones Season 7 finale left you in shock, take comfort in the fact that you're not alone. The penultimate season ended with the legendary wall finally coming down at the hands of the Night King — and it possibly brought Tormund Giantsbane down with it. After Viserion breathed ice fire across the only boundary between the living and the dead, fans are left fearing that the beloved character is dead.

The scene showed Tormund and Beric Dondarrion watching as the White Walkers marched toward the wall. While this wasn't a comforting sight, the wall was built in order to keep them out. Not only did it reach far into the sky, but it was also armed with spells to act as a barrier between humans and White Walkers. But, what they didn't know was that the Night King turned Viserion into an ice dragon in the previous episode after he fell to his death. Watch the intense scene below!

So, not only do the White Walkers have a dragon (and seriously we're still not over this fact), but they also knocked down the wall. If you thought Winter was here before, nope, Winter is here now. The army of the dead is most definitely marching to start a war with the people of Westeros. That will, of course, be shown next season, but while we wait we have to know… is Tormund really dead?

According to the official GoT recap, "Pieces of the Wall begin to collapse, as Tormund and his wildings rush to safety." But, does that mean they attempted to rush to safety and then were killed by the wall's collapse? Or the wall collapsed as they made it to safety? It's hard to say, but of course, the Internet had a lot of feelings about the scene. Check out the best fan reactions below:

So, in conclusion, Tormund cannot be dead. We refuse to accept this. He fell safely into the soft snow and is currently on his way to Winterfell. The End.
