She’s setting the record straight about her apparent "open marriage."
After saying earlier this month that hubby Will Smith “can do whatever he wants,” Jada Pinkett-Smith is correcting herself.
“I will change my statement...Will and I BOTH can do WHATEVER we want, because we TRUST each other to do so,” she stated in a Facebook post on April 14. “This does NOT mean we have an open relationship...this means we have a GROWN one.”
The actress, who has Willow, 12, and Jaden, 14, with her husband of 15 years, had addressed the rumors of an open marriage, saying, “I think people get that idea because Will and I are very relaxed with one another.”
“I don’t think it’s easy to be married to anyone. I think that you have to go into a relationship knowing — especially when you’re dedicating to someone for the rest of your life — this is a life partnership,” she continued.
But “one thing is for sure: I love him deeply,” she finished.
Perhaps one of the reasons behind why they've stayed together for so long?
Will admits, "I don't let a day go past that Jada doesn't feel like the Queen of the World."
The pair first met in 1990 on set of his show The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. They stayed friends and eventually began dating in the mid 1990s. Will and Jada wed on Dec. 31, 1997.
