James Franco is ready to be roasted — Comedy Central style. The network has officially announced that the Academy Award-nominated actor is this year’s Roastee. The event will be taped in LA in August and is set to premiere on Labor Day. “I’ve dreamed about this Roast for as long as I can remember,” the This Is The End actor said in a statement. And Comedy Central's President, Kent Alterman, has already poked fun at the star, “If only James Franco was a more successful, multi-hyphenated, incessant creative risk taker in different media, he’d be the perfect person to roast. Oh well… I supposed we’ll just have to make do."As for who will have the honor of bashing the talented 35 year old, we imagine the likes of pals such as Seth Rogen and Danny McBride. A Roast master for the event has yet to be revealed, but Family Guy creator, Seth MacFarlane, has hosted three times before — who can forget the Charlie Sheen roast?!The network disclosed that the program will have Miles Levy and Joel Gallen from Tenth Planet Productions as executive producers. Joel worked as Executive Producer and Director on the hilarious Comedy Central Roasts of Charlie, Roseanne Barr, Donald Trump, and William Shatner. But that’s not all Comedy Central and the Spring Breakers star have in store for us.The comedy network has obtained the rights to debut “Francophrenia,” a 90-minute documentary directed by the funny man himself. It gives James’ fans a “front-row seat to Franco’s experience during his stint on General Hospital."Who do you think should be host the roasting of James Franco? Sound off in comments!
