Congratulations are in order for Jamie Lynn Spears! The country singer and younger sister of Britney Spears welcomed a baby girl with husband Jamie Watson. Jamie, who is already mom to nine-year-old daughter Maddie from a previous relationship, gave birth to Ivey Joan on Wednesday, April 11. This is the first child for the couple.
"We are beyond excited to welcome this beautiful baby girl to our family!” she told People magazine before explaining the special meaning behind her name, “Her middle name, Joan, is to honor my Aunt Sandra, who passed away 10 years ago from ovarian cancer. She was the most graceful woman I’ve ever known." Ivey was born in Louisiana, weighing 7 lbs., 8 oz.

Jamie, 27, announced she was expecting baby No. 2 this past December with a sweet photo of her family of three. "Looks like we are starting off 2018 with another big milestone… sooo happy to announce that Maddie is FINALLY going to be a big sister,” the Zoey 101 star wrote. “2017 was filled with some of the biggest challenges of my life, as well as some of the biggest blessings, so I made a choice to lay low this year to focus on truly becoming my best self as a person and as an artist."
Last year, Jamie's daughter Maddie had a near-death experience when the ATV she was riding flipped over in a pond, leaving her trapped under water for several minutes. Luckily, Maddie was able to make a full recovery.
"My baby is 9 years old today, and more then ever we realize how precious every day is," she wrote on her birthday a few months later. "So, we have to thank these 2 HEROS John and Victoria are the first responders, who literally saved Maddie’s life, and they were able to celebrate her another year of her life with us this past weekend!"
Congrats to the happy family!
