Janet Jackson shocked fans on Halloween when she stepped out at an event looking nothing like her old self.

The pop star, who attended the Vogue Fashion Dubai Experience, hasn’t been photographed since May 2013.

Fans immediately pointed out the singer’s “puffier” face and overly arched eyebrows online — which are even more noticeable in this picture posted by her makeup artist, Preston Meneses, on Instagram.

According to Media Takeout, Janet has undergone a facelift since the last time we saw her, which would account for her months-long absence, though we can’t confirm the procedure.
