This is why Jessica Hart can’t have nice things. The former Victoria’s Secret model recently shaded Taylor Swift in three since-deleted Instagram photos. Jess, 31, not-so-subtly shared her distaste for the 28-year-old singer by sharing pics modeling a sweatshirt with the words “Four letters bad word Taylor Swift” on it. Of course, it didn’t take long for Swifties to rush to T-Swift’s defense — and subsequently, the not-so-famous model took down the offensive pics.

You’d think celebrities would know that publically dissing the “End Game” singer will result in a social media firestorm. But, Jess still felt the need to insult the pop-star anyway. “Pretty sad you’re using her name to get your own publicity,” one fan commented. “I don’t know if you know this, but those who cross Taylor, never prosper and end up losing in the end. Say goodbye to your career.”

The interesting part about this “feud” is that if anyone should understand Taylor’s power — it’s Jess. In 2013, shortly after Tay performed at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, the Australian model voiced her opinions about her performance. There was lots of chatter about how Taylor’s looks/body type made it seem like she was one of the models. When asked if she thought the singer could pull off the gig IRL — she shared some choice words.

“No,” Hart told a WWD reporter. “I think, you know what, god bless her heart. I think she’s great. But, I don’t know, to me, she didn’t fit. I don’t know if I should say that. I think what you find is that for a lot of us, we’ve been working for 14, 15 years; what it takes to make it here comes from experience and confidence and knowing how to be confident with yourself. I think it comes with age. It’s definitely the benchmark of all jobs.”

After facing major backlash, the model attempted to backtrack her harsh statement. “I adore Taylor Swift, and I was so excited to be with her at the Victoria Secret Fashion Show,” she later told Us Weekly. “What Taylor does on stage is nothing compared to what we do. I could never get up there and do what she does! She is a true rock star and she absolutely killed it the other night. Her song ‘Fearless’ was one of my favorite songs, and I own her first ever CD. I can’t imagine why I would have said anything bad about her.”

Right… well unfortunately for Jess the damage was already done. It didn’t take long for Victoria’s Secret to label her comment “misinterpreted” and seemingly cut ties with the model altogether — she hasn’t walked in a VS Fashion Show since 2013. T-Swift returned to perform at the 2014 show, and allegedly requested that Jess was not to return. Moral of the story? You don’t want to have bad blood with Taylor Swift.
