According to a new report, Jessica Simpson wants to focus less on her fashion empire and more on her acting career.

The 35-year-old, who has appeared in films like The Dukes of Hazzard and Employee of the Month, is allegedly developing her own TV show — using her own money!

“Jess really wants to get back into acting,” an insider tells OK! magazine. “She’s been taking lessons for more than a year, and though she’s been meeting with producers, no offers have come in. So she’s taking matters into her own hands.”
The source adds that’ll she’ll even include hubby Eric Johnson in the production of the “half-hour” series.

“She’ll put him to work and keep tabs on him at the same time,” the insider shares.
