Jessica Simpson has herself a soldier... as a singing partner!

Competing against nine of his peers aboard the aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman in the Persian Gulf, Tennessee-born John Britt sang for Jessica in an American Idol-like contest on Oct. 1, fulfilling a lifelong ambition.
"It's been a dream of mine since I found my first guitar in the attic as a kid," John tells Life & Style about his musical aspirations. Much to his surprise, Judge Jessica ultimately chose the aviation boatswain's mate third class to harmonize with her on her upcoming Christmas album, Happy Christmas. "I think I impressed her with my singing ability," John tells Life & Style.
In addition to their duet (on "I'll Be Home for Christmas"), Jessica and John will perform together at Rockefeller Center's tree-lighting ceremony in NYC on Nov. 30. "She's very talented," John says about Jess. "I've seen The Dukes of Hazzard and Employee of the Month, I've listened to her music.... I'm excited!"
Happy Christmas will be released on Nov. 23 at Macy's and JessicaSimpson.com, then everywhere on Dec. 7.
