Plenty of people are furious over the death of Cecil the Lion, who was reportedly killed by an American dentist earlier this month. But Jimmy Kimmel got teary-eyed while discussing the tragedy on his talk show Tuesday night.
The Jimmy Kimmel Live! star didn't attempt to hide his disgust for Walter Palmer, the man accused of luring the famed feline out of a national park in Zimbabwe on July 6, shooting him with a crossbow and then tracking him on a 40-hour hunt, later beheading and skinning the creature.

"Is it that difficult for you to get an erection? That you need to kill things that are stronger than you?" Kimmel stated. The 47-year-old added that Palmer could "save himself from being the most hated man in America" if he would just take Viagra.
But it was toward the end of his monologue when Jimmy got choked up, urging those moved by Cecil's death to donate to Oxford's Wildlife Conservation Research Unit, which studied the beloved animal.

Palmer has since made a statement about the killing, telling news outlet KARE11, "I hired several professional guides and they secured all proper permits. To my knowledge, everything about this trip was legal and properly handled and conducted.”
He continued, "I had no idea that the lion I took was a known, local favorite ... I deeply regret that my pursuit of an activity I love and practice responsibly and legally resulted in the taking of this lion."
