Several reports have been floating around about the poor state Joan Rivers could be in when she wakes up from her medically induced coma.
But a source close to the 81-year-old TV vet and her family say don't buy into the hearsay; she's slowly, but surely on the mend.
REPORT: Joan Rivers Being Taken Out of Coma
"It's a slow process, but she's on the road to recovery," a source says. "She's getting better. Don't believe all this ridiculous speculation."
The Fashion Police host stopped breathing while undergoing an outpatient procedure on her vocal chords in NYC on Aug. 28. She was rushed to Mount Sinai Hospital, where she was placed in a medically induced coma.
Daughter Melissa and her 13-year-old son, Cooper, rushed to NYC from LA upon hearing the news and haven't left Joan's side since.
On Sunday, Melissa released a statement thanking fans for their "continued love and support."
The source says the reality star has been nothing short of positive and hopeful since the situation arose last Thursday.
"She is a rock. She is calmer than I've ever seen her. All these reports about doomsday are not true," the insider says. "She is her mother's daughter and she's tough as nails. She's the person keeping everyone together."
