Jordin Sparks and Jason Derulo are calling it quits.

The couple, who began dating in late 2011, seemed ridiculously happy up until this point and Jordin often gushed to Life & Style about wanting to marry him. It just goes to show, you never know what's happening behind closed doors.

This report comes from multiple sources close to the couple, who told E! News the breakup was mutual and they will remain friends.

Jason penned the song "Marry Me" for Jordin and even featured her in the video — then admitting it was inspired by their relationship.

He told E! News of the single at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards. "It's about Jordin and it's talking about how amazing it will be when I get down on one knee and it will be the greatest moment of my life."
