Jordin Sparks isn’t putting any pressure on beau Jason Derulo when it comes to an engagement.

“Whenever he’s ready is fine,” Jordin, 22, told Life & Style at the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation’s A Magical Evening gala in NYC on Nov. 29. “We’re not really in a rush.”

“I know as a girl, for the most part, women are always just a little bit more ready to settle down,” she adds. “So I’m kind of, like, whenever is okay with me. I don’t want him to feel pressure and I don’t want to be that girl, but I do find myself sometimes going, ‘Wouldn’t it be great?’”

But if and when these two decide to get engaged, their families will be ecstatic.

“[Our] families love each other,” the American Idol winner tells Life & Style. “Jason’s met my grandparents, my mom, that side of the family and everybody just fits. That’s really important I think.”

And Jason, 23, seconds that. “Absolutely,” Jason told Life & Style when we asked if his parents love her. “She’s the little princess.”

“We’re really different and we really expand each other,” he says about Jordin, whom he’s been dating for over a year.

In October, the songstress told us she’d love to settle down with the “It Girl” singer. “When I’m with him, I see an amazing future.”

NEWS: Jordin Sparks would love to marry Jason Derulo

This much is certain: Jordin is more than happy with her relationship.

“If we sit down to talk, we both talk and say our opinions and how we want life to be in a couple of years or when we’re older — and he has a lot of opinions!” she tells Life & Style. “So it’s good, we’re working everything out.”
