Long before Caitlyn Jenner — formerly Bruce — famously told Diane Sawyer, “For all intents and purposes, I am a woman,” there was one person who knew the 65-year-old was struggling with her gender identity: Pam Behan, a former nanny in the Karadashian-Jenner household.

“He opened up to me about 20 years ago when I asked him why he’d had plastic surgery when he was so drop-dead gorgeous,” she tells Life & Style exclusively.
“I was shocked when he confessed that he struggled with his identity since he was young and said, ‘I feel more feminine than masculine.’”

Even though the confession took the 46-year-old — who penned the memoir Malibu Nanny — by surprise, she says there were “signs.”
“He had lots of feminine body gestures, like the way he crossed his legs,” she tells the mag. “I also thought it was unusual that he got manicures all the time!”
